Ees, Drenthe, The Netherlands - Holiday park Land van Bartje, to the south of Borger, is planning on expanding. To the north and the south of the park, land has been bought. The cooperation management and Landal Land van Bartje’s park manager have asked Arcadis Landscape Architecture to design a master plan for the whole terrain. The existing park and the two new plots of land should have the same character.
A landscape analysis has shown that the park is situated on the border of the Hunze stream valley and the Hondsrug woodland area. These area-specific characteristics form the basis for the master plan. By showing and enabling experiencing of these three spheres in the current park’s public space and taking the three spheres as leading for the design of the bought plots, the holiday park will be fitted better in the landscape, which will produce one corresponding overall picture.
The layout of the public space will fit the projected target group: in addition to young families, nature lovers looking for calm and authenticity will also be catered for and appealed to. The northern plots will mainly be used to house the general and technical services. The southern plots will be converted into a recreational area with a large Drenthe farm where the vacationer can rest or can participate in workshops. It can double as the gateway to Geopark de Hondsrug.
