Delft - Photos of the newly opened A4 between Delft and Schiedam. In 2009, Arcadis drew up the Zoning Integration Plan (part of the Route Decision), combining landscape, architecture, water, traffic, nature, air and noise.
The route, with a recessed construction and a tunnel, is embedded in the valuable polder landscape, with a (half-)sunken position, an eco-aqueduct and restoration of historical connections. Along the urban part of the route, the road is entirely enclosed in a land tunnel, resulting in a roof garden.
