Venlo - Arcadis, commissioned by the municipality of Venlo, worked on the preliminary design for a new pedestrian and cyclist bridge over the Maas River. This bridge will connect the city center of Venlo with the Kazernekwartier in Blerick, an area that is set to be developed into a vibrant urban district in the coming years.
The design not only focuses on crossing the river Meuse but also on creating an attractive living environment. The sleek approach routes of the bridge will contribute to the transformation of De Weerd into a green urban park where recreation and urban connections come together. Additionally, the bridge seamlessly integrates with existing cycling routes and meets strict technical and user-friendly requirements.
This study represents a significant step toward realizing the new bridge, which will serve not only as a functional connection but also as a boost to the spatial quality of the region.
